United Robots: By journalists for journalists

United Robots is a Swedish technology company, which provides automated editorial texts generated from large data sets, such as sports results, the land registry and new business registrations. United Robots was founded from a project within Swedish local media group MittMedia. It is the only provider of automated articles for the newsroom which has its roots in journalism and whose services are created specifically for the publishing industry.

United Robots use a combination of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Generation (NGL) to produce the texts from structured data sets. AI is used to choose the angle of the story, and an NLG application then writes the story – with possibly different angles depending on target audience. In addition, when a new language version is created we work with professional translators to get the idiomatic expressions correct for e g sports.

United Robots provides automated editorial services to a majority of Swedish local media groups, including MittMedia, Gota Media, NTM, Stampen Lokala Medier, Hallpressen, Norran, Sörmlands Media and Skånskan/Norra Skåne. Clients also include Sweden’s largest news site Aftonbladet (Schibsted) and HSS Media in Finland.
